Back to Work with COVID-19

This blog was originally published on March 16, 2021 and slightly edited on March 24, 2021.

It's been one hell of a year, and after months of stress, uncertainty, and adaptation, I finally feel comfortable enough to open my books for appointments again. I've missed the dungeon terribly, and reopening feels surreal to me in so many ways: I can't believe it's finally happening!

Though I'm proudly vaccinated, I still take COVID very seriously. There's still so much we don't know about the virus and the vaccine, and I prefer to be as safe as possible for the time being. A casual slip-up could have lifelong health consequences for both of us, so I'm only interested in spending time with those who respect my concerns. No matter how much fun we've had together in the past, if you're unable to follow the protocol I've outlined below then we're no longer a good match for in-person play.

My availability and protocol are dependent on a number of factors and are subject to change as I see fit. For now, if you'd like to play with me, here's a bit of information about the way I'm running things:

  • Limited availability. To minimize my risk of potential exposure, I'm limiting myself to no more than two sessions per day. Priority will be given to those of you who book sessions of two hours or more, schedule your sessions at least 48 hours in advance, and are happy to provide proof of vaccination. Should you not be vaccinated, I'm happy to accept a negative COVID test taken no more than 48 hours prior to our appointment.

  • Masks required. For our mutual safety, masks are required for both of us no matter your own vaccination status. There's still so much we don't know about the vaccine's efficacy, the new COVID strains, etc., and I'm not interested in gambling with our health for the sake of a few hours of fun. Should you find it hard to breathe with a mask, I'm happy to incorporate breaks into our playtime to allow you to breathe freely or take a sip of water in a safe, isolated area. My session attire will reflect what I feel most comfortable wearing at the moment, though I'm happy to entertain select wardrobe requests. I'll be wearing disposable gloves at all times and changing them often.

  • Monitor your symptoms. Though I recognize that many times those infected with COVID are asymptomatic, I ask that you don't book with me if you've been experiencing any COVID-related symptoms, even if you're fully vaccinated or think it's just allergies or a cold. Upon arrival, I'll take your temperature with a touch-free forehead thermometer. If you show up to the dungeon visibly unwell (a fever above 99 degrees, a persistent cough, or a case of the sniffles), I'll consider that a deliberate disregard for my safety and you'll be sent home without a refund. You won't be allowed to book with me again, no matter your vaccination status. If you've already booked when your symptoms hit or you learn you may have been exposed to someone who tested positive, do the right thing and reach out promptly to reschedule. More information on my current rescheduling policies may be found here.

  • Traveling? Get tested. Because every city and state is handling the virus differently and because travel increases overall risk of COVID exposure and spread, I'm only interested in playing with travelers from out of state who can provide proof of complete vaccination, as well as a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours prior to our appointment. I have a two hour session minimum for all travelers. I'm uncomfortable with outcall sessions, so you're out of luck if you'd like me to come to your hotel room. If you'd like to see me, take a cab.

My Safety Precautions and Sanitation Strategies: As always, my dungeon is well stocked with countless varieties of antibacterial wipes/sprays and gallons of medical-grade sanitizers. Protective barriers are always used on toys when appropriate, and anything touched in the session, be it a whip, a piece of bondage furniture, a doorknob, or a light switch, is completely sanitized after the client's departure.

As leather is porous and therefore much harder to keep clean, my bondage furniture is upholstered in vinyl for an easy, sanitary clean-up. Floors are swept and mopped between clients, and I even have a medical-grade air purifier with H13 HEPA filters.

To keep us both safe, I'm holding myself to strict standards. Texas may technically be fully open, but I'm still acting as if it's not. Despite being vaccinated, I'm still staying home as often as possible and getting most of my necessities delivered. On the rare occasion I leave the house, I usually do so only to run errands I can't complete inside, like going to the post office. I always wear a mask when outside my home and go out of my way to avoid long lines, crowds, and unmasked strangers.

Your health is important to me. Should I ever notice any COVID symptoms of my own after you've sent in your deposit, even if I think it's just allergies or a small head cold, I'll reach out promptly to find a solution that works for both of us.

I've done my best to thoroughly outline my protocol through this blog, as well as on the rest of my website. Should you have questions, please contact me via phone or text for clarification.
